Festive cards

This is the first batch of festive cards I made! 🎄🎅  With few exceptions, I went for very simple cards. I used unconventional colors (blue, pink, brown), minimal details (no sentiments, few glitters), and definitely unusual paper themes 🤣 For a touch of originality, I thought about cards with  trees entirely  made of rhinestones  For the following cards instead, I have mixed and matched the complementary parts of the trees obtained with the Sizzix DECORATIVE TREE thinlits die set Last but not least, here you have classic festive cards with the reds and greens and some sparkle 😊

Halloween dance party card

I made this card for a Halloween contest .  I chose a non-standard size   (20 cm x 20 cm) and  many different materials (craft paper, glitter paper, twine, cardstock, inks, watercolors, alcohol markers and more) I die cut and stamped pumpkins, ghosts and bats with the  Die-namics/ My Favourite Things   Halloween set. Last year, I used this same set to make an explosion box ( HERE ).  For the black background, I wanted something in stark contrast, but still within the range of classic Halloween colors!  1) I dabbed a gauze onto a white ink pad and then on the paper  2) I dripped white watercolor onto the paper by tapping the tip of a wet brush.  I've printed Halloween rhymes  on craft paper I've designed and colored the dance floor with alcohol-based markers   The mummies are digital stamps from Glimps Flag banner, stroboscopic light and spiderweb are all hand  cut/handmade.

A quick guide to candle making 🕯️

Finally, temperature lowered and I managed to prepare a  set of candles  for this fall . Candles  are  great  for any  occasion ! Halloween🎃, Xmas🎄, B-days🎂, romantic dinners🥂 or relaxing nights🌃.  You can keep 'em for yourself or give them to family and friends as gifts! If you've never made candles before, but you're eager to try,  here you have 10 basic steps to follow. This is  not  a  comprehensive  guide and does  not  pretend to be  a  candle-making  course . 1)  weigh the wax  Do you want to know more about  waxes ? Follow this  LINK   2)  Melt it in a double boiler (bain-marie). Stir every now and then...    ⚠ Do not boil the wax ⚠  Never   ever  place the container with the wax directly on the stove! 3)   A t this point, y ou can add some color HERE , you have a post on candle dyes. Remember : the final color of your candle depends on the  wax  too! For example,  soy wax  is   white  at  room  temperature  and for

Tea bag holder cards

I liked the idea of creating tea/tisane bag holder cards very much  🍵🍪  With the cold season approaching, hot beverages will be a constant presence in my days and I'd love to receive a card like this! You can create the pocket with specific die cuts or, as I did, with the envelope punch board , and close the pocket's flaps with whatever thread, twine or bow you have at home. You can line the inside of the pocket with a nice paper, and add as many decorations as possible :-)
